Book Club

Book Club at the East Side Freedom Library

Our monthly book club meets at the East Side Freedom Library. This book club, sponsored by SPFT and the ESFL, meets every month to talk about education, race, economics, and the intersection of all three. It is free and open to the community.

Our next meeting is January 10 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at the East Side Freedom Library.

January’s Book of the Month

For the month of January, we will be reading selections from the book More Than a Score by Jesse Hagopian. Across the country, student are walking out of classes, parents are opting their kids out of standardized tests, and teachers are refusing to administer these detrimental exams. More Than a Score is a collection of essays, poems, speeches, and interviews from frontline fighters, defying the corporate education reformers who are pushing these high-stakes standardized tests.

More Than a Score
